How to import your TV Time data into Deadman Reef

By Mary ·

If TV Time held years of your watching, the first thing you want is your data back. Deadman Reef is built to restore it. Here's exactly how to do it.

What you'll need

Your TV Time data export, the file you received from TV Time back when you requested your personal data. It holds your watch history, your ratings and your lists.

Step by step

  1. Find your export file. Keep it as-is; you don't need to unzip or edit anything.
  2. Open Deadman Reef and go to the import page. On the home screen you'll find the "Coming from TV Time?" entry, or the import option in the menu.
  3. Upload the file. Drop in the export you received. Deadman Reef reads it and matches your shows and movies to the catalogue.
  4. Wait a few minutes. Your watch history, ratings and lists are restored, with each series set right where you left off. Bigger histories take a little longer, but it's minutes, not hours.
  5. Check your profile. Your stats, streaks and progress should reflect everything you brought across.

What gets restored

If something looks off

Matching millions of titles across two catalogues isn't always perfect. If a title didn't match, you'll see it flagged so you can sort it out rather than losing it silently. If your export is very large and the upload struggles, try again on a stable connection. If it still won't go, reach out and I'll help.

Ready?

Once your history is home, the rest of the Reef opens up. Start your import here, and you can follow every improvement to the importer in the Captain's Log.
